Union Privilege understands that many Americans need help navigating the world of retirement planning. The Union Plus Retirement Site—UnionPlusRetirement.com—was created to help working families and individuals learn more about how to begin to prepare for retirement—using practical information, tools and links.

The Union Plus Retirement Site was created by Union Privilege, a consumer benefits organization offering Union Plus programs to union families. The AFL-CIO created Union Privilege in 1986 to provide union members/retirees and their families with valuable consumer benefits and discounts. With Union Plus benefits, union membership "pays" at work and at home.

Typically, a union member or employee receives a pension and/or 401(k) or other retirement account through his/her employer—and sometimes these accounts are negotiated by the union representing the employees. For specific questions on your employer's retirement investment opportunities, please contact your human resources department, union representative (e.g., shop steward) or your benefits administrator.
